News & Events

We are currently in our third trimester of our creative process, and the due date is just around the corner. We are actively applying to galleries to host 9: Cycles of Creation in spring and summer of 2012. Date and locations coming soon!

Art Show Concept

This exhibit will display the art of nine women, who are exploring the correlation between female biological cycles and the act and process of art creation. Our purpose is to create a platform where women's cycles and their creativity can be explored and shared with the community. Themes in this exhibit will include fertility, love and partnership, the divine feminine, birth and motherhood and the female form.

Every human goes through a roughly nine month creative process at the start of life. We all, at one time, relied on the nurturing power of a woman for our lives. In this collective of women artists, we are exploring the feminine power of creation and its essential role in providing balance to the masculine forces in our world. We are investigating the act of creating art as a mirror to life itself. We want to communicate the idea that the process of creation has as much power and meaning as the finished creation itself. By connecting our artistic explorations to the time frame and phases of birth, we aim to deepen our connection to our artworks. By sharing our explorations through multimedia means, we aim to spark dialogue in the community and inspire others to explore their own unique processes of creation.

The artworks encompassed in Nine will pay homage to the feminine, intuitive, receptive side of creativity as well as the masculine, active, illuminating side. We intend to build a space that honors the feminine aspect of creativity and celebrates the cycles of creation that unite us all.
